Leaving behind the huge master bedroom in our townhouse was definitely a big blow for me, and even though I'd be lying if I said I don't still miss the walk-in closet & the huge space we had, I am pretty smitten with our new bedroom. Some of our before photos have the old owners furniture in them - which in many cases makes the room that much drearier.
As fore mentioned it is best described as dreary, not at all "masterful". All the lights throughout the house were anchored in the corner of the rooms instead of the center, which I really hated. The floral wallpaper & yucky carpet was this room's personal ode to the 1970s ( I promise you, every room has at least one) and I am so thankful for my mom & best friend and all their help in taking it down.
AFTER:With the wallpaper down we painted the walls grey (smoke screen) in order to maximize the different possible options for colored accents later on down the road( after all grey goes with everything!) Our his & hers matching night stands are great for hiding our books, glasses, etc. (I can never seem to have enough storage) We love our faux wood blinds and our new flooring. The chandelier ups the anti in making this room more master like. Finally, we hung a few of our wedding photos up make it feel more personal.
