Progress in the Kitchen

The kitchen. Oh what to say about the kitchen. It was a pretty unanimous decision that before we moved in the kitchen had to go. It had such minimal cabinet space that I was skeptical of it ever fulfilling our needs. However,  after our custom designed kitchen cabinets arrived and were assembled my skepticism almost disappeared. We're still working away on the kitchen, it has been a huge undertaking, but here are some progress updates.

No. I am not joking. This was a kitchen still alive in 2011. Only 3 months ago to be exact.

And for reference here is the wall that separates the kitchen from living room. ( and me measuring the window, so flattering. yikes.)

BAM. We pretty much knew right from the beginning that we wanted to knock down the separating wall and make an open concept living space. Fortunately for us our walls were not load barring and we were able to accomplish this fairly easily.

Progress!  What can I say? I am in love with how our kitchen is coming together. We ripped out those old appliances and replaced them with new and amazing stainless steal appliances.  Also, we replaced the old floors with the flooring that we carried out throughout the entire top floor. With the blue ( river rock) the floors really add some great warmth. The cabinets from Venue are exactly what I wanted, white and crisp. We're still waiting on our new counter tops, and because of this are kind of living in a messy chaos. But I'll take the messy counters over that old kitchen any day.

Hopefully we'll have After photos really soon!
