Tiling Pt. 2

After a two day tiling marathon we're finally done! Compared to some of our projects this one was pretty quick and easy. Playing some christmas music while we did it didn't hurt progress either. Here's what's been cooking around here...

After letting the adhesive dry for 24 hours it was time to grout. We used an "antique white" coloured pre-mixed grout that we picked up at the Re-Store for only $2.50 a tub. We love it when we are able to cut costs and find smoking deals!

While I laid the grout Zach was working behind me wiping away the mess with a rag before it could dry.

We're really happy with the grout. It makes the tiles look really defined and crisp....

Since we were already on a roll in the kitchen we decided it was about time that we trimmed down our faux wood blinds. We made the mistake of purchasing them prior to the new cabinets going in, and once the corner cabinets were up the blinds no longer fit.

So after a few weeks of procrastinating we prepped them to be cut. We taped them for two reasons, one to keep them in place and two to help prevent chipping when we ran it through the chop saw.

It truly was just as easy as bringing the blade down on our marked line...

Finishing a project that you've been putting off for so long is so satisfying. This honestly was so simple that we feel pretty foolish for not doing it earlier.

So, what does our kitchen look like now? Well we thought that this would be a great opportunity to do a side by side of our before and after kitchen photos. So here it goes...

Before...

3 Months Later...

How can you not be happy with that? Honestly we are loving how our kitchen is progressing, AND just in time for our Christmas holidays. It's finally time for us to get away and relax a bit! At least our house sitter will get to enjoy our new kitchen. We hope that everyone has a great holiday!
